Happy Holidays, Lighthouse Parents!
I know, half of the time it still feels like summer, but the holidays are just about to be here. I’m sure we’re all looking forward to the change of weather, rain and time spent with family and friends.
At Lighthouse, we are striving to become, “God’s family on mission.” It is our hope that our community of students will continue to explore the mission of God, both while they’re in high school and beyond! As a result, we’ve planned a couple of things to help us focus on this.
First – Operation Christmas Child! I’ve enclosed a card that explains the details for this. Again this year we’re packing shoeboxes with all kinds of fun and useful items for children around the world. These boxes will be shipped to many different countries and delivered to communities in the name of Jesus. This is an awesome opportunity for our students to participate in the mission of God in a small way.
Next – Service Projects! As you can see on the Calendar, there will be some opportunities to serve others including MISSION: SOUP SERVE. On Monday, December 21st we’ll be getting some hot water and cup of noodles to deliver to needy folks. This is another great way to help students participate in the mission of God!
Lastly – January is “Calling” month! We’ll spend the entire month focused on what God has CALLED us to do in the MISSION of His kingdom. We’re excited that our student leaders will be helping to plan this month out. We’re hoping to have both an outreach event planned for students to bring their friends and a service project for students to serve others. Look for more details to come as we approach the new year!
As always, please contact us if you have any questions. We’re really excited for what God is doing in the life of our students!
