LIGHTHOUSE APRIL Wednesday Night Teaching SERIES ~ Tough topics: Week 5

Hi Lighthouse Parents!

I am so sorry to rush this blog post today. Our guest speaker for tonight’s House Party is sick and will not be joining us. The bright side is that we can get back on schedule with our Tough Topics series and not cut a week of our May series around spiritual disciplines. Because I want to give you thoughtful content for follow-up, we will save #MeToo and COnsent for next week and look at Global Poverty tonight.

As we have for this entire series, we will stay grounded by our 3 Facts and 3 Promises. We will take another look at Matthew 25:40 (this was our verse week 1 and our key verse for the series) and Acts 1:8. The big picture for this topic is that there is systemic injustice all over the world and God calls his followers to bring the Gospel to every corner of the globe.

The definition for systemic injustice I will be using with students is: any human system that intentionally or unintentionally hurts a group of people.
